In the end, sleeping right in the middle of a forest while dark clouds and a storm were rolling in was maybe not the smartest idea. We were actually lucky not to have trees falling on our heads 😅. With a full on downpour lasting an entire day, we had no choice but to stay stuck inside the tent, watching Netflix, hahah, and most importantly doing everything we could to keep the water out. After this very wet rest day, we finally headed out to dry ourselves in a nearby shopping mall, then rode the 30 km separating us from a small campsite, 380 Uruguayan pesos per person, where we could dry our gear, enjoy some wifi, and do a full clean up. It felt so good to see the sun again, and even better to feel less wind at last.
