[🇨🇵] Après une belle nuit de camping face à l’île de la Tortue, nous voilà repartis pour une montée de 5 km sur un sentier rocailleux… un vrai test pour les mollets et les vélos ! Heureusement, la vue sur le lac Titicaca nous coupait le souffle.

Une fois l’asphalte retrouvée, une belle descente s’est offerte à nous jusqu’à Ancoraimes, où nous avons pris le temps de manger et surtout de papoter politique avec les habitants de culture Aymara. Pas facile de suivre les débats, mais quelle ambiance !

Ensuite, la route est devenue d’une platitude exemplaire, on sentait bien qu’on entrait dans l’Altiplano… hahah.

Nous avons fini la journée à l’hôtel Avaroa d’Achacachi, où nous avons pris une chambre matrimoniale pour 70 BOB la nuit. Il est aussi possible de planter sa tente à côté de la piscine pour 25 BOB par personne. Et la douche… oh la la ! Après un mois et demi sans vraie eau chaude en Amérique du Sud, c’était le paradis liquide ! Le spot parfait pour faire une pause d’un ou deux jours,on verra bien si on réussit à repartir .

[🇬🇧] After a beautiful night camping in front of Turtle Island, we hit the road again — or rather, the rocks. A 5 km climb on a bumpy trail tested both our legs and our bikes! Luckily, the view over Lake Titicaca was so breathtaking it made us forget the pain

When we finally reached asphalt again, a glorious downhill brought us all the way to Ancoraimes, where we stopped for lunch and ended up chatting politics with some locals from the Aymara culture. Let’s just say it was as intense as the sun at 4,000 m!

From there, the road flattened out completely, you could tell we were entering the Altiplano, haha.

We ended the day at Hotel Avaroa in Achacachi, taking a cozy double room for 70 BOB a night. There’s even an option to camp by the pool for 25 BOB per person. And the shower… wow! After a month and a half in South America, it was our first truly hot shower, pure bliss! Perfect spot to rest for a day or two… if we ever manage to leave
